Thermal Process

Metal Rehab uses fluidized sand bed technology
to remove organic coatings such as paint, plastics, rubber, and mastics
from steel parts and fixtures.
1.Advantages are rapid turn around time (one hour
cycle time) and accommodation of numbers of parts in a single batch.
2.Closely controlled temperatures below annealing
point of substrates so there is
no loss of temper of metals
3.Complete removal of coatings difficult to remove
by other methods
Step one: Parts are placed in a large basket (117”
long x 34”wide x 38” deep)
Step two: Basket of parts loaded into the fluidized
sand bed at a temperature set at 850 degrees F. plus/minus 10 degrees F.
Step three: basket remains submerged in fluidized
sand for one hour, then removed and allowed to cool to ambient.
Parts are submerged in a special de-aching solution
and power washed to remove all traces of ash residue leaving bare metal
surfaces suitable for paint line or other processes.
Total turn-around time is approximately 4 hours. |
